Network Interface Features

A set of features that enable the management and configuration of physical and virtual interfaces on the network.

Loopback Interface, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN Support

Provides flexible network segmentation with support for virtual interfaces (loopback) and VLAN tagging (802.1Q).

LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol): Combines multiple physical links to act as a single logical link, increasing bandwidth and providing redundancy.

Failover: Automatically switches to a backup connection when the primary link fails, ensuring uninterrupted communication.

Load Balance: Distributes traffic evenly across multiple links to enhance performance.

Round Robin: Sends data packets sequentially through each link to ensure equal usage of all connections.

Bridging / STP / Ethernet Bypass

Bridging: Connects two or more network interfaces to operate on the same network.
STP (Spanning Tree Protocol): Prevents network loops by disabling redundant paths and reactivating them when needed.
Ethernet Bypass: Maintains traffic flow even if the security device shuts down, by directly connecting the input and output ports.

Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN)

Enables the virtual connection of different network segments using VXLAN technology for network virtualization.

NAT64, IPv6 6to4 Tunneling

NAT64: Allows IPv6 clients to communicate with IPv4-only servers by translating IPv6 packets to IPv4, enabling protocol interoperability.
IPv6 6to4 Tunneling: A temporary solution for carrying IPv6 traffic over an IPv4 infrastructure by encapsulating IPv6 packets within IPv4.

Static ARP

Allows manual configuration of specific IP-MAC mappings, enhancing network security.
